WET DEADWATER

New Yorkers Wet met through mutual pals, almost a decade ago. Kelly, Joe and Marty kept in touch in the years that followed, sharing ideas over email before finally taking the plunge and forming Wet as it stands today. The songs are still gently informed by that period of distance between though, and none more so than 'Deadwater', the lead single off their forthcoming National Anthem and Columbia Records debut, Don't You. Opening up with a gloss of lithe guitar and syncopated percussion, before Kelly's solemnly beautiful tones take control, 'Deadwater' is the archetypal Wet torch song - coolly detached, unusually hooky, and yet always heartbreakingly poignant. - DC
